2: A Story of Being
The Hero’s Journey (by Bharath Ranganathan)
The Story: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
People from all parts of life meet their challenges. At one point on of them, Aria, calls BEING, representing ALL life. They refer to they/them. The Story of BEING shows how each individual surrenders to the greater all, shines light on each approach. Music and emotions are the key to understand and get back to nature, keep the earth as our sacred space and worship it in daily action. They are defending AGAPE as the attitude humans need to come back to save the earth, environment and nature, the love and power for all. BEING see it in opposition to EROS, sweet, painful and romantic, that keeps humans busy who do not learn to master themselves but stay caught up in their fears and pain. Creating and dying, surviving and living, joy and pain. Their approach to “how to live to the fullest” can be summoned by survival of those who fit best, who are willing to adapt, accept and love.
Still daring to live the own dreams. What BEING are not: for sure not the toughest, nor the most aggressive or the strongest and no fighter, yet they are just BEING – Cooperation wins, it’s kind yet tough.
The Characters
There are five main characters plus representants of emotions and atmosphere
- YOUNG WOMAN: Aria who lost her fiancée as he went to war. She is curious, her heart is broken and she is discovering the nature around her to soothe her mind. A woman who discovers that surrender is a way to cope with everything.
- THE MAN: A human who is a son, a fiancée, was forced to go to war. He is not courageous nor proud to be a soldier, he rather is fearful and bold enough to confess this to his mother. A vulnerable man reflecting on life, love, friendship and tenderness.
- THE ELDER WOMAN: (role model = Terezija Mostler), A mother who suffers because her son went to war, she gives up on love as the pain to her mother heart drives her nuts. Eventually she also discovers her way of surrendering to nature and BEING. Her art and nature help her to go through the pain. She is considered a witch but also crazy and stands for the experiences of life from the fullest to the poorest.
- THE NURSE – a COUNTRY WOMAN: A woman who is overwhelmed by both the strange behaviour of people who dare to live their life without sacrifices. She at one point befriends herself with that concept and surrenders to her true nature and becomes the spokesperson for BEING. No one should ever be kept segregated from the world.
- BEING – (mother earth), referring to themselves as they&them: It represents nature, all beings and all present humankind. They are animated by what Christianity calls „all-embracing love“, Islam „the sacred feminine“, Judaism „vacant space or tsimtsum“, Buddhism „the moon or dharmathatu“, in Yoga it is prana and traditional Chinese medicine the „chi or qi“, some philosophers call it soul or life force.
- DANCERS: represent all the emotions of the opera. The emotions of the humans as well as the movement of BEING, their all-embracing love, emotions and their disturbance and also rage
- MUSICIANS: are part of BEING and part of the human character when a human sings.
- THE AUDIENCE is invited to join in at the end, to celebrate life. So it plays a part, too.
